Engr. Oluwatomilayo Oladipo ONAFOWOKAN

Engr. Oluwatomilayo Oladipo Onafowokan was born on the 26th of April 1976 in Ogun State Nigeria. He began his western education at Baptist Primary School, in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State. After Obtaining the First Primary School Leaving Certificate, he proceeded to Abeokuta Grammar School also in the Ogun State capital where he obtained the Senior Secondary School Certificate.

Thirst for higher education made him sat and passed the entrance examination into the prestigious University of Lagos where he bagged bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in year 2000.

Engr. Oluwatomilayo Oladipo Onafowokan’s professional career began with N.Y.S.C Universal Engineering Lagos in 2001 from where he joined the public service of Ogun State as an engineer with Ogun State Water Corporation in 2002. For three years he was in charge of operation and maintenance of aeration systems, sedimentation systems and servicing of tanks and reservoirs.

In 2006 Engr. Onafowokan was made Project Engineer/Procurement Officer under the World Bank assisted 1st National Urban Water Supply Reform Project. His jobs in the position were identifying rehabilitation needs of existing water supply system across 6 major towns in Ogun State, detailed engineering design for identified rehabilitation needs to meet projected water demand for 6 major towns in Ogun State, compilation of detailed and comprehensive environmental and social baseline data which provided the environmental and social management process with key baseline information needed for identifying adverse impacts, incorporation of mitigating measures identified in Esia report into design prior to award of rehabilitation contracts.

Added to his important functions as Project Engineer/Procurement Officer was the preparation of contract document in readiness for signing, monitoring contract execution to ensure compliance with signed terms and delivery within stipulated period, environmental and social impact audit after the completion of rehabilitation of water supply system in six major towns in Ogun State among other critical functions.

Engr. Onafowokan was in 2014 promoted to the position of Director Engineering Services with key functions of preparation of cost estimate for pipeline extension and maintenance and the preparation of as-built drawings for new pipeline extension works. In 2016, hard work and good delivery of responsibilities on the job as Director of Engineering Services earned him elevation to the enviable position of Assistant General Manager (Civil). His elevation to the present position he occupies has been of immense gain to the Corporation in the area of operation and maintenance of water distribution networks across major towns in Ogun State.
