Engr. Sakirudeen Ayinde SALAAM

Engr Salaam S.A. joined the Corporation in December 1997.  He holds BSc and MSc degrees of Mechanical Engineering (Mech Engr); Diploma in Computer Studies and has participated in trainings and workshops, both at home and abroad. He is a registered Engineer with 15 years’ experience in various aspects of Water supply operations, services and management.

Experienced as a Manager of human and material resources, he had served as the Area Manager Iperu and Ota respectively at different times and as Workshop and Vehicle Fleet Manager; as planner and policy formulator for water supply operations and as Project Monitoring Engineer in the GM’s office.

He has travelled outside the country to acquire skills, training and broad outlook. He was a Technical Assistance Ambassador of the Federal Government of Nigeria to Republic of Burundi, East Africa under the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) scheme of the Federal Government – a scheme designed to provide technical assistance to the needs of African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries.

Engineer Salaam has, since joining the service of the Corporation, worked as Planning and Development (P&D) Engineer,  in the Department of Planning and Development which engaged in Planning and Design of Water Supply System for Urban ; Semi-Urban, and Rural Communities as well as in the Collation and Analysis of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Data of Water systems and Water Audit and Tariff Studies; Identifying and Reducing Water Pipeline Leakages through analysis of Metering data and visual inspection of pipelines  and Preparation of Proposals on Water Audit and Tariff Studies including Preparation of Cost Estimates of Project Proposals

Engineer Salaam was once appointed as Counterpart Engineer with ENPLAN GROUP (Consulting Engineers and Planners) – the company that executed World Bank Sponsored Institutional Development Component of National Urban Water Sector Rehabilitation Project, which comprised four modules (1) Water Audit and Tariff (2) Customer Enumeration and Mapping, (3) Operation and Maintenance (4) Computerization of every Data pertaining to the other three modules.

He was formerly the Team Leader/Area Business Manager, under the Ogun Internally Delegated Area Management Contract (OGIDAMC), from January 2010 to June 2012 during which he provided leadership for the Ilaro Area Management Team and the entire Area Staff to achieve the overall goals of the Corporation and ensure that set targets were met.

Engr. Salaam assumed duty in June 2012 at the Headquarters of the Corporation in the newly created Department of Corporate Planning and Budget. He is currently the Acting Director of Corporate Planning and Budget. He is a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers and he is happily married with Children.
